Installaatio, veistokset ja prosessitaide 2026
Vuotalon pihalle rakentui merikontin rungon mittoja mukaileva installaatio, jossa on pinoissa merimaiseman aallokkoa kuvaavat levyt, ikään kuin ne olisivat laivan lastina, merta kuutioituna kauppatavaraksi. Merta kuvaavan teoksen osa muuttuu ilmojen mukana, meren värit elävät ja lopulta ehkä valuvat pois kuin pakeneva ajatus merikuutiosta kauppatavarana.

Projektin tarkoitus on ollut kurottaa kohti alueen asukkaita ja saada tutkimaan omia kodin tavaroita. Mistä ne ovat lähtöisin? Onko niillä käyttöä? Minne ne lopulta tulevat päätymään? Yhteenä 111 helsinkiläistä lahjoitti projektiin tarpeettomia tavaroitaan, joista osasta on tehty koosteita. Esinekoosteet näyttäytyvät alueen asukkaiden muotokuvina. Löydät teokset kirjaston elämäkerta-hyllystä.
Made in Vuosaari -kokonaisuuden taustalla on Anne Roinisen meneillään oleva Made in -teosten sarja, joka on toteutettu Ylikiimingissä Oulussa sekä Töölössä ja Kruunuvuorenrannassa, hieman eri painotuksin. Keskiössä on globaali tavarantuotantokoneisto ja paikallisidentiteetin käsittely.

Installation, sculptures and process-based art 2026
An installation mimicking the dimensions of a shipping container frame was built in the courtyard of Vuotalo. Within it, panels depicting the waves of a seascape are stacked as if they were a ship's cargo—the sea cubed into merchandise. A section of this artwork representing the sea changes with the weather; the colors of the ocean shift and live, and may eventually fade away like a fleeting thought of the sea cubed into a commodity.
Made in Vuosaari also at the Vuosaari Library
The purpose of the project has been to reach out to local residents and encourage them to examine their own household belongings. Where do they originate from? Do they have a purpose? Where will they ultimately end up? A total of 111 Helsinki residents donated their unwanted items to the project, some of which have been transformed into assemblages. These object assemblages serve as portraits of the local residents. You can find the artworks in the library's biography section.
The Made in Vuosaari entity is part of Anne Roininen’s ongoing Made in artwork series, which has been carried out in Ylikiiminki (Oulu), Töölö, and Kruunuvuorenranta, each with slightly different emphases. At its core is the global machinery of commodity production and the exploration of local identity.
The artwork is on display until September 25, 2026.
